Vikhroli

For too long, Vikhroli's claim to fame had been the Godrej township. On seemingly endless acres of land, the company has its factories, its residential complexes, its school, and everything is maintained with a style and standard that is typically Godrej. While Godrej was responsible for development in the eastern part of this suburb, several ancillary factories and industrial outfits and other large manufacturing units developed Vikhroli along the LBS Marg.

Today as the manufacturing companies move out of town, Vikhroli is rapidly becoming a hub for services sector, and a number of the abandoned industrial estates are being taken over by construction companies.

With its proximity to the booming Hiranandani township in Powai, and the proposal for a flyover linking Vikhroli to Jogeshwari, the construction boom is sure to arrive soon. As the other suburbs get rowded, the low prices and strategic location of the suburb will make it a preferred choice of many a homebuyer.

Transport: Central Railway, roadways. Flyover connects to Eastern Express Highway making it a short drive to South Mumbai, Thane, Chembur, Vashi, and Andheri.
