Sion
This suburb has been a great cultural and commercial centre for the city for almost half a century. Gandhi market has been known for its great choice and great bargains, while the famous Shanmukhananda Hall has resounded with the performances of some of the India's greatest artistes.
The Sion Circle is probably equivalent to Flora Fountains in South Mumbai in terms of activity that it supports. There is Cine Planet on one side, the SIES College just a stone' throw away, the well-equipped Sion Hospital, and also the King Circle station that links this suburb to the Harbour Line and the Western Railway. A great suburb to live, east and entertain.
Transport: Through Dharavi, the leather capital of Mumbai, it links the central and eastern Mumbai to the west. While some part of this roadway does get potholed in the monsoons, most of it is well-maintained and ensures the traffic always keeps moving. Like Dadar this place too is very well connected by public bus service. From here you can access train to the Central and Harbour Line. From King Circle station (near Gandhi Market) you can reach Bandra within minutes.
